A digital interface, in a simplistic sense, refers to the digital mechanism or component that someone uses to interface a hardware device. Digital interfacing uses software that guides the user’s experience. This software provides a myriad of venues for people to connect with other people, products, media and information through what we call the four Cs, referring to the four types of information interfaces:


- Content: media, entertainment, resources, information
- Commerce: buying, selling; wholesale, retail
- Communication: text, audio, video, multimedia
- Community: relationships, civil society, political
